Everything You Need to Know About Tattoo Sleeves

Their has been a rise in the popularity of tattoos today, especially sleeve tattoo designs. Go to any major city in the world and you will see people of many shapes and sizes with sleeve tattoos. There are 3 basic types of sleeves. There is a full sleeve, a half sleeve, and a quarter sleeve.
A full sleeve is basically a combination of tattoos that take up the majority of the space on your arm. They cost the most because they take the most time to create. The creation of a sleeve tattoo can take anywhere from 5 hours to 25 hours to complete, all depending on what type you get. Most likely it will be completed over a few sessions.
You will usually be charged by the hour by your tattoo artist, the price range is pretty wide from dirt cheap to very expensive. If you get an expensive tattoo artist expect to pay hourly. Sometimes as much as you would pay a plastic surgeon. Most of the time the higher priced tattoo artists produce the best quality work and its why they are priced high.
Entire sleeve tattoo designs can get up to the thousands of dollars range, so before you choose your artist make sure you know how much you can afford. Like anything in life you usually get what you pay for with tattoo artist. Once in a while you'll find a good tattoo artist who is reasonably priced, but more likely than not cheap artist = cheap work. Basically I'm telling you that you should thoroughly research your tattoo artist before you decide. Think of it like choosing a car, you are going to check out a variety of dealerships before you make your final decision.
Sleeve's are not simple tattoos so expect making one to be hard and time consuming. To make the process easier I would go to a tattoo artist who has a lot experience with tattoo sleeves. When you are having a tattoo piece as humongous as a sleeve created you want to make sure it's of high quality. The tattoo is going to be on your body for an extremely long time.
One of the most popular types of sleeve tattoo designs are Japanese tattoo designs. A koi fish as the centerpiece of the sleeve is especially popular. Some other types of Japanese inspired designs you may see are cherry blossoms, dragons, and samurai's. Another extremely popular type of sleeve design are tribal tattoo designs. The designs usually consist of boldly darkened lines of tribal patterns. Some images that are also seen in tribal designs are sharks, geckos, turtles, and animal teeth.Celtic tattoo designs are also another really popular type of sleeve design.A Celtic tattoo design on a sleeve looks incredibly good and is distinguishable by patterns of interweaving lines.
A great aspect of getting sleeve tattoo designs is that they can be created piece by piece. So you may like a certain tattoo and get it done, than just add to it slowly. It's also great if you don't have a lot of money, as you can get your sleeve done piece by piece.
